Location: west of the Drill Field (i.e. on the west side of the campus)

[The Duck Pond]

The Duck Pond is a great place for a relaxing walk. Take some bread for the ducks.

The Virginia Tech campus is also famous for its friendly squirrels.

One summer in the mid 1980s the Duck Pond was drained and the ducks wandered aimlessly all over campus while the empty pond stank. The word on the street (urban legend?) was that when someone had experimentally flushed dye down several toilets around campus the pond turned blue, so they were working on improvements to the campus sewage system. Believe it or not.
